Install laser326 on windows XP

32 bit

First, download HP Universal Print Driver for windows system - Postscript . Click it to run, it will self unzip to "C:\HP Universal Print Driver v5.0.3 for Windows - PostScript". You can also choose you own folder, and this folder can be deleted after printer get installed.

Now click Start->Printers and Faxes->Add a printer
The Add Printer Wizard starts, click "Next". Select "A network printer, or printer attached to another computer", and then "Next". Select "Connect to a printer on the internet or on a home or office network". In the box blow, type

Click "Next". The driver selection windows pops up. Click "Have Disk.." Browse to "C:\HP Universal Print Driver v5.0.3 for Windows - PostScript" or the folder you have extracted the HP universal postscript driver. Select any .inf file and click "Open" and then "OK". Pick "HP Universal Printing PS" and then click "OK". Wait until the driver get installed. Choose whether to use this printers as default, Click "Next" and then "Finish".

Right click the newly created printer "laser 326 on http://physprt:631", and select "Properties". Select "Ports" panel, and un-check "Enable bidirectional support". On the same panel, select "Device Settings". Select "Letter" for "Printer auto select", "Manual Feed in Tray 1", "Tray 1" and "Tray 2". Set "Available Postscript Memory" to 32767.

To print in double side, select that feature with windows.
In your application, select File->Print, click on "Properties" beside the printer name. Select "Finshing" tab, tick "Print on both side" and Click OK.

64 bit

Download HP Universal Print Driver for windows x64 system - Postscript . Click it to run, it will self unzip to "C:\HP Universal Print Driver v5.0.3 for Windows x64 - PostScript".

The other steps are the same as for 32 bit windows XP system, except the extracted driver folder.
