Install laser326 on windows 7

64 bit

First, download HP Universal Print Driver for windows x64 system - Postscript . Click it to run, it will self unzip to "C:\HP Universal Print Driver v5.0.3 for Windows x64 - PostScript". You may of course save to a folder of your choice. This folder can be deleted after the printer is installed.

Now click Start->Devices and Printers->Add a printer
Click "Add a network, wireless or Bluetooth printer".

Your computer will start to search for printers. Click "Stop". Click "The printer that I want isn't listed". Select "Select a shared printer by name". In the box below that, type in

http://physprt:631/printers/laser326


Click "Next". The driver selection windows pops up. Click "Have Disk.." Browse to "c:\HP Universal Print Driver v5.0.3 for Windows x64 - PostScript" or the folder you have extracted the HP universal postscript driver. Select any .inf file and click "Open" and then "OK". Pick "HP Universal Printing PS" and then click "OK". Click "Next" and then "Finish".

Right click the newly created printer "laser 326 on http://physprt:631", and select "Printer properties". Select "Ports" panel, and un-check "Enable bidirectional support",


Select "Device Settings" panel, change "Available PostScript Memory" to 32767

followed by "OK".

32 bit

download HP Universal Print Driver for windows - Postscript . Click it to run, it will self unzip to "C:\HP Universal Print Driver v5.0.3 for Windows - PostScript".

The other steps are the same as for 64 bit windows 7 system, except the extracted driver folder.
