How to install lm253 in ABB253

lm253 is a "lexmark MS 410" laser printer in ABB253. It is used for this room only.

Windows

download the driver from lexmark site and run the downloaded exe file. It will search for the printer. Note the ip is at 130.113.174.11.

OSX

System Preferernces -> Printer & Fax -> + -> IP Printer:

Protocol:  LPD
Address :  physprt
Queue   :  lm253
Name    :  lm253
Location:  ABB253
Print Using: Generic PostScript Printer

click "Add". Repeat for lm253s.

linux

Linux machines managed by RHPCS should already have this printer installed. If this is not the case, or if these is a problem with the queues, send a mail to sysadmin@physics.mcmsater.ca.

If this is a machine you installed yourself, the steps to setup the queues are:
- Become root
- Set "Browsing Off" in /etc/cups/cups.conf, restart cupd.
- Run these commands:

    lpadmin -p lm253 -E -v lpd://physprt/lm253
    lpadmin -p lm253s -E -v lpd://physprt/lm253s
