How to install br335 in abb335

br335 is a "brother HL-5450dn laser printer" in ABB335, for Paul Higgs's group only.

On winndows 7, install it as a local printer. Create a tcpip port for lpd server: br335. When asked to pick up a driver, first do a windows update. and then choose brother HL-5450dn series.

For osx, system preferences->printer and fax->"+", select Brother HL-5450DN series

Click Add

For linux As root in a terminal, type

    lpadmin -p br335 -E -v lpd://physprt/br335
    lpadmin -p br335d -E -v lpd://physprt/br335d
  

or download ppd file br335.ppd run system-config-printer add new printer, url: "lpd://br335" use supplied ppd file, browse to the downloaded file br335.ppd. choose option tray=1. Copy printer br335 to br335d, and then change printer and job setting to use double side.
